Edwin Cecil McQuiddy, 84, died Tuesday, March 10, 2009, in Kansas City.

Cremation. Private memorial services will be held at a later date.

Born Nov. 15, 1924, in Marshall, he was the son of Edwin Harris McQuiddy and Cecile Kathleen Cooper McQuiddy. He served his country during World War II enlisting in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged as a musician third class. On Feb. 13, 1960, he married Lois Jones, who survives of the home. He and his wife served as board members and president of the Bonsai Society of Greater Kansas City. He achieved international recognition in the Bonsai community. He was also a charter member of Marshall Philharmonic Orchestra.

Additional survivors include one brother, Robert Cooper McQuiddy, and several stepchildren, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and great-nieces.
