Goldie Schnakenberg, 61, of Concordia, formerly of Independence, died Saturday, March 7, 2009, at the home of her daughter in Concordia.
Cremation. Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m., Thursday, March 12, 2009, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Concordia, with William W. Harlow officiating. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Village Hospice of Lexington. Born May 19, 1947, in Kansas City, she was the daughter of the late John C. Schrepfer and Oleita Frazier Schrepfer. On Aug. 7, 1966, she married Harold Schnakenberg, who survives of Concordia. She had lived in Concordia the past five years and prior to that was a longtime resident of Independence, where she was a 1965 graduate of Truman High School. She was a manager in retail sales for most of her life, most recently working as a manager for Wal-Mart stores in Lee's Summit, Independence and Marshall. She was a member of Concordia Frau Lions.
She is survived by her three daughters, Leda Ditch and Janna Bishop, both of Concordia, and Starlena Hardison of Independence; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; three sisters, Pat Harrington of Cave Creek, Ariz., Shirley Harmon of Lee's Summit and Yvonne Schrepfer of Rock Springs, Wyo.; two brothers, John C. Schrepfer III of Green River, Wyo., and Kurt Schrepfer of Las Vegas, Nev.; and several nieces and nephews.
