Janet L. Schreiber, 83, of Marshall, died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Maple Hill Cemetery in Osceola, Iowa. Born Nov. 16, 1925, in Minneapolis, Minn., she was the daughter of the late Gilmore Peterson and Frances Holte Peterson. She was a 1943 graduate of Southwest High School in Minneapolis. In 1943, she married James Foster and in 1963 she married John "Jack" Schreiber, who preceded her in death on Nov. 7, 1995. She worked at Jack Schreiber Insurance Agency in Osceola. She moved to Marshall in 2000 to live with her daughter, Jill McGuire. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Marshall and volunteered in the gift shop at Fitzgibbon Hospital for a short while.
Survivors include one son, Jeffrey Foster of Lawrenceburg, Tenn.; one daughter, Jill McGuire of Marshall; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Gail Norman of Minneapolis; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, John Foster; one grandson; and one sister, Florence Rafshol.
