Slater man hurt in one-vehicle crash late Tuesday

A Slater man suffered moderate injuries when his car went off the road and overturned shortly after 11 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

Roger L. Burns, 27, was taken by ambulance to Fitzgibbon Hospital for treatment, according to the report.

Burns was traveling on Highway 240 about one-third mile south of County Road 122 when the 1997 Chevrolet he was driving went off the right side of the road, returned to the roadway, went off the right side again, struck a ditch, overturned and came to rest on its passenger side, troopers said.

Burns was not wearing a safety belt, according to the report.

The investigation is continuing with charges pending, according to the report.
