Deanna Kay Henderson, 66, of Marshall, died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Cremation. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009, at Sweeney-Reser-Wills Funeral Home. Rev. Russ Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at Sweeney-Reser-Wills Funeral Home. Memorials have been established to St. Jude Hospital or American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
She was born April 3, 1942, in Marshall, the daughter of the late Bernard L. Winfrey and Ruby Wyrick Winfrey Murdock. She was married to Walter Powers. On Aug. 10, 1985, in Marshall, she married Gene Henderson, who survives of the home. She was a resident of Marshall of all her life. She had been employed at Marshall Habilitation Center for several years and had worked in housekeeping at Missouri Valley College for many years. She had also worked at Marshall Senior Center. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Marshall.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Lee of Springfield and Marilyn Baldwin of Marshall; eight grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Patrick Powers and Roger Powers; two brothers, Danny Winfrey and Johnny Winfrey; and one grandson.
