Dorothy Virginia Gordon, 94, of Lexington, passed away Monday, Jan. 26, 2009, in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009, at First Christian Church in Lexington. Burial will be in Machpelah Cemetery in Lexington. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Memorials may be made to Lexington First Christian Church. She was born Dec. 5, 1914, in Waverly, the daughter of the late Stewart and Louise Wessel Trent. She married George B. Gordon on Jan. 8, 1937. She was a homemaker. She was a member of First Christian Church in Lexington, Christian Women's Fellowship, Daughters of the American Revolution, Democratic Women's Club, Lexington Hospital Auxiliary and Young Matrons Bridge Club.
Survivors include two children, Virginia Lee Bryant and her husband, Kenneth, of Marshall and George B. Gordon III and his wife, Suzanne, of Overland Park, Kan.; six grandchildren, Amy Bryant Heuman and her husband, William, of Glasgow, Trent E. Gordon and his wife, Becca, of Grayslake, Ill., Matthew A. Gordon of Austin, Texas, Jill Bryant Clemens and her husband, J.W., of O'Fallon, Colby S. Gordon of Carrollton and Kristin Bryant Norris and her husband, Kevin, of Republic; and three great-grandchildren, Bryant Eads of Glasgow, Marissa Clemens of O'Fallon and Amelia Gordon of Grayslake.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George B. Gordon, on June 9, 1974; one brother, Ryland Trent; and a sister, Dimple Trent Lewis.
