Edward "Ed" Weinreich, 88, of rural Marshall, died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2009, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009, at First United Methodist Church in Marshall, with Rev. Dave Huck officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church. Born March 5, 1920, in rural Marshall, he was the son of the late William Arthur Weinreich Sr. and Anna Elizabeth Watkins Weinreich. On Dec. 29, 1956, he married Muriel Strohkirch, who survives of the home. He had lived in rural Marshall his entire life and was a crop and livestock farmer, raising purebred Charolais cattle. He was a 78-year member of First United Methodist Church in Marshall and was a member of the rural fire department for over 50 years.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Virgie Simmerman and her husband, Jim, of Marshall and Vickie Tucker and her husband, Ray, of Abilene, Texas; two sons, Eddie Weinreich and his wife, Lory, and John Weinreich and his wife, Diane, all of rural Marshall; nine grandchildren, Terra, Nick, Christina, Justin, Korey, Luke, Joshua, Josiah and Joelah; three great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Dallas and Logan; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, William Arthur Weinreich Jr.
