Catherine Lange, 77, of Sweet Springs, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009, at The Living Center in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sweet Springs. Rev. Dan Wing will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Sweet Springs. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Alzheimer's Association. Born April 23, 1931, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late Robin Price Wiley and Linnie White Wiley. On Aug. 17, 1951, she married Gus Lange, who preceded her in death on Dec. 14, 1985. She had lived in Saline County her entire life, where she was a graduate of Marshall High School and longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She had worked at Roxbury Press for several years and then retired from Rival Manufacturing, both in Sweet Springs. After her retirement, she was a foster grandparent for the Sweet Springs school district.
Survivors include two daughters, Debra Summers and her husband, Tom, of Marshall and Donna Deatherage of Concordia; four grandchildren, Tommy Summers, Thea Summers, SFC Michael James Deatherage and Crystal McKinley; two great-grandsons, Xavier Deatherage and Tyler Nelson McKinley; two brothers, Jim Wiley of Marshall and Bob Wiley of Sweet Springs; one sister, Ruth Miller of Concordia; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Larry Ray Lange, in infancy; two sisters, Iva Saylor and Betty Garrison; and two brothers, Buck Wiley and John Wiley.
