Joan Jungerman, 72, of Blackburn, died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009, at Hospice House in Kansas City.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, at Salem United Church of Christ in Higginsville. Burial will be in Blackburn Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church. Memorials may be made to Salem United Church of Christ in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home of Marshall. Born April 26, 1936, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late Herman Brunkhorst and Edna Meyer Brunkhorst. She was a 1954 graduate of Blackburn High School and then attended Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, now called University of Central Missouri. She then lived in Kansas City, where she worked at Harzfeld's and then City National Bank. On July 17, 1959, she married Fred Jungerman III, who survives of the home in Blackburn. After her marriage, she worked at Brunkhorst store and was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Higginsville.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Janice Marie Brockman of Concordia; one son, Frederick Andrew Jungerman IV of Blackburn; two granddaughters, Cassidy and Carys Brockman; one sister, Maurine Schroeder of Concordia; two nephews, Jon Schroeder and Mark Jungerman; and one niece, Angela Jungerman.
