Marshall cable customers urged to call local office for help during ownership transition

Tuesday, January 13, 2009

A local representative of Windjammer Communications, formerly Time Warner Cable, announced Tuesday, Jan. 13, that customers who need help with phone or Internet glitches resulting from the ownership change should call the local office for help.

Lana Crawford, lead customer service representative, said Marshall customers can call 660-886-6400 and when prompted to enter an extension, type zero, which will ring the office phones.

Crawford said a new call center has been overwhelmed with business, but local company representatives can help iron out difficulties.

"We will be glad to help," she said.

In response to customer concerns posted on The Marshall Democrat-News Web site, Crawford assured customers that the change would have little effect on customers after a few technical glitches are ironed out.

"It's the same service, the same charges. We just changed names," she said.

The service was owned by Time Warner until recently. Windjammer Communications last summer purchased a number of rural markets in 25 states.

It would have been nice to have the option of switching to dish. Instead of choosing for us who we do business with.
