Shirley Ann Schreier Aversman, 73, of Waverly, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, after a battle with leukemia the past year.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009, at Waverly Immanuel Lutheran Church, with Pastor Brett Mueller officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Alma. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009, at Waverly Immanuel Lutheran Church. The family suggests contributions be made to Waverly Immanuel Lutheran Church in memory of the deceased. They may be left at or mailed to Gibson Funeral Home, 201 S. Main, Carrollton, MO 64633. She was born Oct. 26, 1935, in Corder, the daughter of the late Maurice and Verna (Schmidt) Schreier. She graduated from Santa Fe High School. She married Kenneth Lee Aversman on Dec. 3, 1955; he preceded her in death on June 4, 1987. She worked at Waverly Apple BBQ after she retired from Community Bank in Waverly. She was a member of Waverly Immanuel Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid. She was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi, Delta Sigma Chapter and Hazel Hill Community Club.
She is survived by one daughter, Linda Kay Maycock of Waverly; two grandsons; one sister, Mary Alice Lageman of Waverly; one brother, Donald Lee Schreier of Lexington; and several nieces and nephews.
