Mary A. Washington, 86, of Marshall, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, at I-70 Medical Center in Sweet Springs.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, with visitation one hour prior to service at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Marshall. Rev. Douglas A. Dubisar will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Sweeney-Reser-Wills Funeral Home in Marshall.
She was born April 29, 1923, at Alma, the daughter of the late Ran Reddick and Flora Hays Reddick. On Jan. 26, 1946, in Alma, she married Thomas L. Washington Sr., who preceded her in death on Feb. 24, 1997. She worked at Marshall Habilitation Center for over 30 years as a dietician worker and retired in 1993. She had also worked at Marshall Inn for several years. She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas L. Washington Jr. and his wife, Connie, of Marshall and Alphonso C. Washington and his wife, Kelly, of Richmond; one sister, Esther Vinson of Topeka, Kan.; nine grandchildren, Lindsey Washington, Tim Washington, Garren Washington, Stephanie Workcuff, Diane Workcuff, Calvin Williams, Karen Williams, Gynn Williams and Amber Fellows; seven great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Delores Workcuff in 1999 and Joan Fellows in 2000; three sisters; and one brother.
