Bonnie L. Galloway, 74, of Slater, died Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 19, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Slater United Methodist Church, with Rev. Robert Sisney officiating. Bethany Weiker, organist, will play "Love Me Tender," "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and "What a Wonderful World." Burial will be in Slater City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Auby Galloway, Marty Galloway, Tyler Galloway, Jim Wiseman, David Button and Bob Sweigart. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Galloway and Clay Galloway. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church. Memorials are suggested to Fitzgibbon Cancer Center in care of Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.
Born March 25, 1934, in Sedalia, she was the daughter of the late Aubrey and Lena Oherke Brauer. On May 27, 1950, in Sedalia, she married Leo Galloway, who survives of the home. Galloway was a member of Evangelical Church in Sedalia. She was a member of the 401 Couples Club in Slater. She and her husband owned and operated Galloway Shoe Store in Slater for 17 1/2 years until their retirement.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four sons, Mike Galloway and his wife, Julie, of Dexter, Ben Galloway and his wife, Nancy, of Columbia, Rocky Galloway and his wife, Cheryl, of Columbia and Richie Galloway and his wife, Melissa, of Kansas City; seven grandchildren and one on the way; and one great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
