"More Marshall MOments," the ninth annual booklet published by the Marshall Writers' Guild, is available at Red Cross Pharmacy South and Red Cross Pharmacy on the Marshall Square, according to a news release from the organization.

Twenty-six essays, stories and poems were accepted for publication from guild members and others with a Marshall connection.

Original art by Judy Walker is also featured.

Naomi Campbell served as editor and typist. Carole Schaefer, treasurer, made arrangements with PrintLynx in Sedalia to publish the book.

A grant from the Missouri Writers' Guild -- missouriwritersguild.org -- provided funds for ordering 35 additional copies this year, because all books sold out early last year.

Profits from sale of the booklets will finance a workshop offered in the spring, free of charge, to area residents.

Copies of the booklet will be donated to the State Historic Society at University of Missouri in Columbia, the Marshall Public Library and Saline County Historic Society.

Indexes for each book and one for all the previous books were recently compiled by Peggy Wickizer and are available in the genealogy collection of the Marshall Public Library.

Guild membership is open to all interested area residents.

Presently, each member is being encouraged to write a memoir.

Each completed manuscript will be assembled and bound. Members have been published and won contests.

Prompts are suggested each month and read at meetings; however, members may read any project desired.

Information about the guild is provided by member Sidney Sullivan on the guild's Web site.
