Donald E. Wylie, 78, of Warsaw, formerly of Slater, died Friday, Nov. 28, 2008, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial with military rites will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association. Born April 28, 1930, in Milwaukee, Wis., he was the son of the late Wilmer F. Wylie and Sally Evelyn Beaty Wylie. He had lived in Warsaw the last 15 years, moving from Slater, and was a police officer for Slater Police Department for 20 years, retiring in 1992. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of Slater American Legion Post 78 and VFW Post 4367.
Survivors include one daughter, Carol Ann Snider and her husband, Tim, of Warsaw; six grandchildren, Rachel Gumminger and her husband, Jason, Hadley Snider and his wife, Angela, Brecket Usnick and her husband, Jeff, Crystaline Frain, Michael Frain III and Isaac Wylie; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Dona Blackburn of rural Malta Bend; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Karen Jean Riley, and one brother, Wayne Wylie.
