"It's been crazy," said Assistant Fire Chief Tony Day.
Overloaded wiring is the probable cause of a fire on North Street in Marshall early Friday morning, Nov. 21.

Late that same day, Marshall firefighters were called to a house in Napton to battle a fire that destroyed much of the building and all of its contents.
"We had a good knockdown once we got there," Day said, "but Napton is at the very edge of our coverage area, and it takes 15 minutes to get there."
The blaze was probably caused by an overloaded extension cord, Day said.
The loss is estimated at $25,000 for the building and $15,000 for the contents. Day said he doubted there was enough of the building left to rebuild. Despite the severity of the fire, no injuries were reported.
Saturday afternoon, Nov. 22, the fire department was called out again to extinguish a small fire on West Mitchell Street.
Day said the third fire was caused by a turkey smoker.
The smoker was left outside, where it's believed lawn debris was ignited, which then set the dry grass on fire. The fire moved quickly to a deck attached to the house and then set the siding of the house on fire.
Damage was estimated at $10,000. No injuries were reported.
