Harold Frederick Bradley
Harold Frederick Bradley, 83, of New Franklin, formerly of Marshall, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008, at Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital in Columbia.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, 2008, at Markland-Yager Funeral Home in New Franklin, with Rev. Dale Larison officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery near New Franklin. Memorial contributions are suggested to New Franklin First Baptist Church or American Cancer Society in Care of Markland-Yager Funeral Home, P.O. Box 126, New Franklin, MO 65274.
He was born Sept. 2, 1925, in Warrensburg, the son of John E. and Nellie Mae Jackson Bradley. He married Gladys Weston on Oct. 14, 1951. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, stationed in the Pacific on USS Mifflin. He was employed for over 20 years as district supervisor with Imperial Central States Oil Company and later worked with Green Thumb as a field assistant. He was a member of New Franklin First Baptist Church, past-president of Warsaw Rotary Club, member of Warsaw Lions Club and was a former deacon at Poplar Baptist Church at Warsaw.
In addition to his wife, Gladys, he is survived by two sons, Harold "Wayne" Bradley of Sedalia and Michael Bradley of Versailles; two daughter, Carrolyn Sharp of Boonville and Cheryl Arens of Fulton; three sisters, Lucille Shirley of Hemet, Calif., Betty Payne of Ocala, Fla., and Shirley Zumwalt of Peoria, Ariz.; one brother, John Bradley of Defiance; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Leon Bradley; and one sister, Erma Ruth Bradley.
