Howard L. Ballenger, 67, of Miami, died Monday, Nov. 17, 2008, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Born March 16, 1941, in Saline County, he was the son of the late Ora Ballenger Sr. and Mattie Gertrude Saylor Ballenger. He had lived in Saline County his entire life and was a Baptist. He worked on various farms and construction sites.
Survivors include two daughters, Terry Narron of Vandalia and Sandra Cordell of Marshall; one son, Vincent Lee Ballenger of Moberly; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four brothers, Melvin Ballenger of Marshall, Vernon Ballenger of Nevada, Larry Ballenger of Slater and Kenneth Ballenger of Marshall; two sisters, Erma Evans of rural Mount Leonard and Marilyn Jenkins of Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Ora Ballenger Jr., Raymond Ballenger, Mike Ballenger and Jimmy Ballenger; two sisters, Patsy Hall and Norma Riley; and one daughter, Tammy Ballenger.
