William G. Campbell, 88, of Marshall, died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008, at Golden Oaks Residential Care in rural Marshall.

Born Oct. 16, 1920, in Thedford, Ontario, Canada, he was the son of the late James Hamilton Campbell and Ida May Whitelaw Campbell. On April 27, 1956, he married Evelyn Ilene Mann, who preceded him in death on Jan. 19, 2007. He had lived in Marshall the last five years, moving here from Huntington Beach, Calif., where he worked as a manager for Kimmel-Motz Refrigeration for 27 years. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II and was a member of Steamfitter/Piperfitter Union Local 250 in Gardena, Calif.
Survivors include two sons, Will Campbell and his wife, Lisa, of Marshall and Scott Campbell and his wife, Stacey, of Phoenix, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Sam, Symone and Siara; two sisters, Phyllis Sherwood-Welsch of Los Angeles, Calif., and Betty Castleberry of Livonia, Minn.; along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, James Campbell, and one sister, Helen Simon.
