Marshall police make arrests in early Sunday convenience store burglary

Monday, November 17, 2008
Marshall police arrested three teens early Sunday following a burglary at a convenience store in Marshall.

According to the report, police responded to an alarm at Northside Convenience store, 775 N. Miami Ave., just after midnight Saturday, Nov. 15, and discovered that the business had been broken into.

While investigating the break-in, police stopped a vehicle suspected of being associated with the crime.

Two males, Terrance J. Blackmore, 17, of Marshall, and Robert D. Scharnhorst, 17, of Marshall, and one female, Magon N. Kateman, 17, of Marshall, were arrested.

According to the incident report, stolen property was recovered from the vehicle and further investigation resulted in the recovery of additional property stolen from other Marshall businesses, police said.

All three are in custody at Saline County Justice Facility, each on a cash-only bond of $5,000.

The investigation continues, police said, and more arrests are expected.

Of course it's our business. These kids, apparently not well supervised, are out breaking into businesses and stealing from them, not once, but on multiple occasions. If they haven't already, how long before they're breaking into our homes and robbing people. Based on current events in Marshall alone, I'd say that's our business.

madison, as this one of the suspects is my immediate family, i think it is my business. especially if it appears as though one was already in this mess before the other two jumped on the train with him...

Case.net shows different dates for each of the charges on each of the defendants, which means they are for separate incidents. As we reported, charges in additional incidents may yet be brought.

I'm confused. On case net, 2 of the suspects have 2 counts against them, the 3rd, has 3? Anyway know why? Are there other incidents that have been brought to light?
