Contractor reports vehicles, tools stolen from construction site

Friday, November 14, 2008

The Saline County Sheriff's Department is investigating the theft from a construction site new Sweet Springs of two vehicles and a number of tools.

A report made Friday, Nov. 14, by representatives of Premier Contractors Inc. noted that two skid-loaders and the tools were taken from a site a quarter of a mile south of Interstate 70 on County Road 329.

The skid-loaders apparently had been removed from the site on a goose-neck trailer, deputies said.

The list of missing tools included three circular saws, two demolition saws, a finish nailer, a tool box containing various hand tools and two hammer drills.

The skid-loaders were identified as a John Deere model 317 and a Caterpillar, according to the report.

Deputies said the investigation continues.
