Nelson man arrested Nov. 8 for domestic assault

A 32-year-old rural Nelson man was arrested Saturday evening, Nov. 8, for third-degree domestic assault, according to a report from the Saline County Sheriff's Department.

According to the report, the man called a Cooper County emergency number to report that he had been assaulted by his girlfriend. Cooper County officials notified Saline County dispatchers.

When a Saline County deputy and a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper arrived on the scene, they observed injuries to the woman's face and leg.

The woman declined medical treatment, according to the report.

Both the man and the woman reported they had an argument that escalated. The man said the woman threatened him with a length of pipe and with two knives, deputies said.

The woman reported the man dragged her by her hair through the yard of their residence and hit and kicked her repeatedly, according to the report.

When formal charges are filed, the names of the accused will be published.

Sister109--The proper word is "tried"--not tryed". Maybe you should run for mayor and see what you can accomplish. There are a lot of people who have bought homes here and are remodeling them, and there are also a few new ones in town.The Nelson area is a large area when location is referred to as "rural Nelson".

Rural Nelson includes a lot of nice, well kept homes. Your comment is ignorant.

For years they have tryed to clean up that town.And nothing seems to get done.Seems like they cant get grants to help out.And as for me IM NOT IGNORANT THANK YOU............ Just wish the mayor would do something ...

People choose to move to Nelson after living in Marshall's hell hole for 25 yrs. All of Nelson is not bad--just like all of Marshall are not as ignorant as sister109.

Wow not all people of Nelso are bad, there are some bad apples in every barrell, but it is easier to pick out the bad ones when there aren't as many to choose from!
