Miami woman arrested for alleged domestic assault

A spirited early morning discussion between a Miami woman and a Malta Bend man Sunday, Nov. 2, resulted in a visit from Saline County Sheriff's deputies and a possible domestic assault charge on the woman.

Deputies were called to the scene in Miami at about 1:15 a.m., when the woman reported being assaulted by the man, who had left the area.

According to the incident report, the woman told deputies the two had been drinking and got into an argument after visiting friends, during which the man had thrown several items at her, including a barbecue grill and three telephones.

When deputies discussed the situation with the man later, he said the woman had attacked him and slammed the door on his hand.

A copy of the incident report has been forwarded to the prosecuting attorney for review.
