Pearl O. Brooks, 90, of rural Marshall, died Friday, Oct. 17, 2008, in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with Rev. Vernon Maxted officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Born July 11, 1918, in Monroe City, she was the daughter of the late Oscar Lee Olson and Grace Ethel Spalding Olson. She was a graduate of Missouri Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in St. Louis. On Aug. 12, 1951, in Hannibal, she married Paul Brooks, who preceded her in death on Aug. 13, 1984. She had lived in rural Marshall since 1958 and was a retired registered nurse. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Eta Masters of Beta Sigma Phi, Pachyderm Club, New Idea Extension Club and Missouri Nurses Association.
Survivors include one sister, Margaret O. Bleigh of Pekin, Ill., and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, John Lee Brooks, and two sisters, Opal Lee Olson and Barbara O. Smith.
