Sharon Kay Maddex, 61, of Sagrada Beach, died Monday, Oct. 13, 2008, at Boone Hospital, Columbia.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 17, 2008, at Ozark Tabernacle Church, rural Lincoln, with Rev. Johnny Medlock officiating. Burial will be in Inman Memorial Cemetery in rural Lincoln. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the family in care of Fox Funeral Home in Cole Camp. Pallbearers will be Troy Dixon, Shawne Howe, Garrett Howe, Adam Lash, Kenny Renfro and Chris Blanchard.
She was born Dec. 17, 1946, at Fort Scott, Kan., the daughter of Roger and Freda (Rhynerson) Patterson. On Dec. 2, 1994, at their home at Sagrada Beach, she was united in marriage to Raymond Maddex, who survives of the home. She was a member of Ozark Tabernacle Church in rural Lincoln. She worked for Saline County Ambulance in Marshall as a paramedic for 17 years and served as ambulance director for three years. She moved to her home at Sagrada Beach and was a paramedic for Warsaw-Lincoln Ambulance District in Warsaw. In 2001, she went to work as a sales person at Inter-State Studios in Sedalia. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, fishing, spending time with her children and grandchildren, and raising chickens and rabbits.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her mother, Freda Perine of Marshall; four daughters, Shelli Howe and her husband, Shawne, of Cole Camp, Shauna Lash and her husband, Adam, of Marshall, Dena Petree of Bunceton and Kristin Jackson and her husband, T.J., of Anderson; three sons, Richard Maddex of Tipton, Edward Maddex and his wife, Tracie, of Southwest City and Tony Maddex and his wife, Amanda, of Bunceton; one sister, Kay Elbik of San Diego, Calif.; one brother, Roger Patrick Patterson of Kansas City, Kan.; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her father, Roger Patterson, and her stepfather, K.D. Perine.
