Roy E. Scharnhorst, 48, of Warrensburg, passed away Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008, at Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City.
Cremation. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, Oct. 8, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg and cremation will follow.
He was born Dec. 13, 1959, in Marshall, the son of Charles Richard and Frances Darlene (Brooks) Scharnhorst. On Feb. 9, 1980, he was united in marriage to Melody Booth in Liberal, Kan. He was an ink machinist for the Wincup Cup Company in Higginsville. He attended Kingdom Hall Jehovah's Witness Church of Warrensburg.
Survivors include his wife, Melody L. Scharnhorst of Warrensburg; three sons, Christopher E. Scharnhorst and his wife, Andrea, of Kansas City, Johnathan R. Scharnhorst and his fiancée, Kelli, and Anthony L. Scharnhorst of Warrensburg; his mother, Frances Darlene Scharnhorst of Marshall; one brother, Danny J. Scharnhorst and his wife, Joy, of Marshall; one sister, Donna K. Aversman and her husband, Bob, of Waverly; two granddaughters, Amber and Addison Scharnhorst of Kansas City; three nephews, Charles Scharnhorst and Paul Scharnhorst, both of Marshall, and Joshua Vance of Waverly; and two nieces, Rachel Myers of Warrensburg and Saquita Scharnhorst of Marshall.
He was preceded in death by his father.
