Malta Bend man arrested in baseball bat beating

A Malta Bend man was arrested early Tuesday, Oct. 7, for unlawful use of a weapon after he allegedly assaulted another man with a metal baseball bat, according to a report from the Saline County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies responded to a home in Malta Bend just before 3 a.m. after a woman reported that the man attacked another man in her home and then left in a truck.

Deputies located the male victim, who had left the scene, and while talking with him, saw the truck described by the woman, according to the report.

The alleged attacker was apprehended and placed on a 24-hour hold pending formal charges.

The male victim suffered a cut on his head, according to deputies. He was treated at Fitzgibbon Hospital, according to the report.

Wow. I didn't see any comments on here regarding the other case.

And, yes, he deserved what he received. It was self defense. The victim apparently wasn't careful in choosing what he fell for.

It's perfectly acceptable to beat a man with a baseball bat....and it is okay that a school employee took more than $38K from the Malta Bend school district because she wasn't the only one who participated?!?!

First of all, it was self defense. Second of all, Union - you are exactly right. When you are a KID trying out a relationship w/another man's wife (ex or not, he was supporting her monetarily), sleeping in another man's bed with a baseball bat by your head - you obviously know you will get what you deserve.
