The theft involved a pink cancer donation can for the "Week in Pink" fundraising campaign to purchase cancer center equipment for Fitzgibbon Hospital.
Two male subjects were involved in the crime.
 A man suspected of distracting a convenience store clerk while an accomplice allegedly stole a cancer center fund-collecting can is seen leaving the store Friday, Sept. 26. (Contributed photo) [Click to enlarge] |
Police ask anyone who knows these subjects or has any information related to this crime to please contact the Marshall Police Department at 660-886-7411.
really come on now was it necessary for these guys to be so dumb and steal money that was going to a cancer organization wow i bet one of them end up with cancer and realise how much it sucks to not have a cure for everyone maybe theyll be that one w.o a cure or maybe not but i hope some how they learn...i mean come on the amount of money that was in that jar im sure wasnt much umm loosers u could of at least fricken stole from a store or ur neighbor this WAS for charity now its in the hands of some skumbag loser come on now i really do hope one of them read this and know how highly i think of them and how much of a lowlife skumbag idiodic loser they are!

This is crazy. Why would anyone take that? I dont reconize either one of these guys, Hopefully they will be caught. Something is really wrong if they dont. Surely this picture has been issued to other counties and states.

anonymous tips to the police are in a whole different ballpark than making statements on a public forum accusing someone of committing a crime. however, truth is a defense to libel or slander so if you turn out to be right, all is good. if you're wrong, you've just damaged someone's reputation needlessly. i agree with imaloony that contacting the police is the responsible way to provide information to help them solve this crime. you're scraping the bottle of the barrel if you are stealing charitable donations. sheesh. do you have no conscience at all?
Actually the police receive anonymous tips all the time and it's not libel. If a person looks like a suspect, then they look like a suspect. I would imagine the original image is also clearer than the picture here and the suspect could easily be chosen from a lineup. I would still say that tips be phoned in and not be made here so as not to alert the suspect that someone has made him! Of course if he reads the paper and isn't still stoned then he will probably get the heck out of Dodge anyway. Pretty lame stealing from a cancer collection jar, karma comes around though!

I'm no lawyer, but perhaps it would be better to refrain from suggesting names of possible suspects on here.... Even though this forum is semi-anonymous, I think it could still be considered libel if you were incorrect and someone chose to pursue it....
I've been away from Marshall for 2 1/2 years and knew exactly who that was by the picture! He hasn't changed!

The funny thing is he could have found more money on the sidewalks and on the curbs on his walk to the store than what was in the jar!!
