Cheryl K. Fizer, 48, of Slater, died Friday, Sept. 19, 2008, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 22, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at Slater Presbyterian Church. Rev. Pam Sebastian officiated. Burial was in Slater City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Joel Clements, Kyle Browning, Kurt Browning, Cory Venable, Jake Venable and Jake Winston. Honorary pallbearers were Josh Clements and Ethan Borgman. Memorials are suggested to the church or Missouri Cancer Associates in care of Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.
Born March 13, 1960, in Marshall, she was the daughter of Carol Pape Schleuter, who survives of Concordia, and Virgil Borgman, who survives of rural Slater. On June 25, 1982, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Saline City, she married Richard Mark Fizer, who survives of the home. She was a member, elder and past treasurer of Slater Presbyterian Church. She was a 1978 graduate of Slater High School and a 1982 graduate of Missouri Valley College in Marshall.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Winston of Rolla and Amy Fizer of Slater; one brother, Mark Borgman of Nelson; and one sister, Michelle Limback of Concordia.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Sara Borgman.
