Cletus Martin Kloeppel, 74, of Marshall, died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Marshall, with Fr. Kevin Gormley officiating. Prayer service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home, with visitation following from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Pallbearers will be Rick Johns, Jack Smith, Cody Johns, Matt Johns, Steve Kloeppel and Pete Solomon. Memorials may be made to St. Peter Catholic Church or American Heart Association. Born Nov. 10, 1933, in Rich Fountain, he was the son of the late Peter B. Kloeppel and Bernadine Elizabeth Luebbert Kloeppel. He graduated from Salisbury High School and served in the U.S. Air Force. On Sept. 7, 1957, in Sullivan Island, S.C., he married Mary Catherine Jackson, who survives of the home. He retired from Quinn Concrete after 26 years. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Steve Kloeppel of Marshall; two daughters, Teresa Johns and her husband, Rick, of Rowlett, Texas, and Janet Smith and her husband, Jack, of Columbia; four grandchildren, Cody Johns, Matt Johns, Levi Smith and Claire Smith; two nieces; and two nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
