Laura J. Wilcox, 52, of Warrensburg, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008, at her home.
Cremation. All friends are welcome to come and say goodbye to her Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg. Memorial contributions are suggested to American Cancer Society and may be left in care of the funeral home.
She was born Feb. 11, 1956, in Independence, the daughter of Alden Noah Smith and Wathena Mae (Ireland) Smith Baldus. She was a graduate of Fort Osage High School in Independence. She was a wife, mother, farmer and truck driver. She drove and made deliveries for Harmers Food Products.
Survivors include her husband, Larry W. Wilcox of Warrensburg; one son, Jamale V.L. Wilcox of Warrensburg; her mother, Wathena Mae Baldus of Buckner; one brother, Gary Smith of Warrensburg; three sisters, Bonnie Evilsizer of Buckner, Sherry Miller of Shawnee Mission, Kan., and Lisa Murphey of Independence; two stepsisters, Linda Potteberg of Independence and Patsy McCulloch of Oak Grove; and two grandchildren, Nicholas and Brock Wilcox.
Her father preceded her in death.
