Albert V. Leimkuehler, 86, of rural Gilliam, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008, at Fitzgibbon Hospital.

Cremation. No services are planned. Weiker Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Born Oct. 25, 1921, in Saline County, he was the son of the late August W. and Della Feuers Leimkuehler. On April 12, 1947, in Kansas City, Kan., he married Betty J. Volskay, who survives of the home. He was a member of the Salem Evangelical Church near Saline City and was a retired farmer. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Steve Leimkuehler of rural Gilliam; two grandchildren; and one brother, Robert Leimkuehler of rural Slater.

He was preceded in death by a son, John Leimkuehler, and one sister, Ellen Schwartz.
