Georgene "Faye" Bagby, 95, of Winfield, Kan., died Monday, Sept. 8, 2008, at William Newton Memorial Hospital in Winfield, Kan.
Graveside funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 12, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Garden Cemetery in Marshall. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions be made in her name to William Newton Healthcare Foundation Nursing Scholarship. Born Sept. 16, 1912, in Burden, Kan., she was the daughter of Elmer and Maude (Blakey) Steel. She moved with her parents to Blackwater, where she graduated from high school in 1929. She married Edgar Bagby on June 1, 1930; he preceded her in death in 1968. The couple moved to Santa Monica, Calif., where she graduated from beauty school. They later moved to Monrovia, Calif., where she owned and operated her beauty shop for many years. On June 24, 2000, she moved to Burden, Kan., to make her home with her sister, Nina Kidd.
She is survived by a nephew.
In addition to her husband parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Nina Kidd, and one brother, Harold Steel.
