Lillian Margaret Gilpin-Clouse, 88, of Marshall, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008, at The Living Center in Marshall.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with Rev. Claude Fields officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Pallbearers will be Chuck Gilpin, J.R. Gilpin, Jim Gilpin, Bill Steed, Greg Steed and Jeff Steed. Honorary pallbearers will be Sean Gilpin and Bryan Beck. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Born March 11, 1920, in Bradford, Ark., she was the daughter of the late James Clarence Steed and Myrtle Edna Burkett Steed. On Dec. 21, 1956, in Moberly, she married Ira Thurston Gilpin, who preceded her in death on Nov. 11, 1973. On Oct. 23, 1983, in Marshall, she married Henry "Hank" Clouse, who survives. She had lived in Marshall most of her life and was a member of Gill Memorial Baptist Church and attended Marshall Baptist Temple. She had worked at Paradise Donut Shop and then at Marshall Habilitation Center, retiring in 1993.

Additional survivors include two sons, Charles Everett "Chuck" Gilpin and Jr. Gilpin, both of Marshall; one daughter, Irma Jean "Jeanie" Beck of Marshall; four step-children, Jim Gilpin of Marshall, Jerry Gilpin of Sedalia, Rose Mary Tennill of Marshall and Margaret Ann Ohmes of Gardner, Kan.; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Nicole Beck, Bryan Jacob Beck, Kimberly Michelle Beck, Sean Jeffrey Gilpin, Elizabeth Doreen Whittom, Corey Heinzler and Andrew Heinzler; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Laveda Ann Steed of Bradford; one brother, Billy Wayne Steed of Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husbands, E.L. Gilpin and Ira Thurston Gilpin, she was preceded in death by one son, Anthony K. "Tony" Gilpin, and one stepson, John William Gilpin.
