A celebration service will be held Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008, at 5 p.m. at The River, Forsyth. Kris Pace will be speaking at 5 p.m., with visitation and celebration until 7 p.m. Services are under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home, Branson.
He was born Jan. 14, 1968, in Hannibal, the son of O. Lee Fuqua and LaVaughn "Vonnie" Aldrich Fuqua. He grew up in Marshall, where he graduated from Marshall High School in 1986 and attended Missouri Valley College. He served his country for 10 years in the National Guard. He moved to Hollister about nine years ago, where he was the parks director for the city. He was extremely proud of Hollister Town Square, the park he helped dedicate recently. He will be remembered for his talent with parks, for his love of motorcycles and his companionship with his black lab. He was a member of The River Community Church, Forsyth.
He is survived by his father, Lee Fuqua of Redbud, Ill.; his mother, LaVaughn "Vonnie" Fuqua-Mathiesen and her husband, Bryan Mathiesen, of Hollister; and his faithful companion "Pepper." He will also be missed by numerous family and friends.
