Pearl H. Fleischmann, 97, of Slater, died Friday, August 15, 2008, at The Living Center in Marshall.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 18, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Weiker Funeral Home in Slater, with Rev. Tony Gallagher will officiating. Bethany Weiker, organist, will play "In the Garden" and "In the Sweet Bye and Bye." Burial will be in Slater City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Schmidt, Junior Schmidt, Shaun Leimkuehler, Alfred Leimkuehler, Jerry Leimkuehler and Charles Leimkuehler. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Salem Evangelical Church.

Born Aug. 5, 1911, southeast of Slater, she was the daughter of the late Adolf and Hilda Fischer Leimkuehler. She was a 1931 graduate of Slater High School. On Nov. 28, 1937, in Slater, she married Charley Fleischmann, who preceded her in death on Feb. 4, 1967. She was a member of Salem Evangelical Church near Saline City. She worked at Rice Stix Factory in Slater for 14 years and as bookkeeper at LaCrosse Lumber Co. and Cott Lumber in Slater for 37 years until her retirement in 1981.

She is survived by one son, Ray W. Fleischmann of Alto, N.M.; one brother, Ernest Leimkuehler of rural Slater; and one sister, Lillian Janneck of St. Elizabeth.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Frank Leimkuehler.
