Charles H. Schmitz, 70, of Marshall, died Friday, Aug. 8, 2008, at The Living Center in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 11, 2008, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with Fr. George Kramer officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to Fitzgibbon Cancer Center. Born Jan. 5, 1938, in Bonnots Mill, he was the son of the late Ben Schmitz and Amelia Hubert Schmitz. He was raised in Bonnots Mill and came to Marshall in 1992, moving from Fulton. He worked in the laundry room at Fulton State Hospital, retiring in 1988. He was a Catholic and a member of the Marshall Optimist Club.
Survivors include two sisters, Anna Marie Helmig of Jefferson City and Marceline Triola of Arnold, and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret VanBuskirk.
