Helen E. Herider, 96, of Slater, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Cremation. Memorial services will be Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at Slater Christian Church, with Rev. Debbie Roath officiating. Bethany Weiker, organist, will play "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and accompany the congregation in singing "For the Beauty of the Earth." Inurnment will be in Slater City Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Slater Christian Church or Big Bend Retreat in care of Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.
Born March 1, 1912, in Slater, she was the daughter of the late Daniel V. and Julia May Herider. She was a longtime member of Slater Christian Church. She was a 1930 graduate of Slater High School. She worked at the State Bank of Slater for 42 years until her retirement in 1975. She was active in Business and Professional Women's Club and American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by nephews, a great-niece and a great-great-niece.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Dr. Harry V. Herider, Daniel V. Herider, George B. Herider and two in infancy, and one sister, Maysie V. Bridges.
