Elsie Geyer Keller, 100, of Marshall, died Thursday, July 31, 2008, at Mar-Saline Manor.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 4, 2008, at Shepard Funeral Chapel in St. Louis. Graveside services were held in Sunset Memorial Park in St. Louis.
She was born Jan. 5, 1908, in St. Louis, the daughter of the late John and Sophie Geyer. She attended elementary and High School in St. Louis. She graduated from Harris Teacher College in 1930. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society, Association of Childhood Education and Missouri State Teachers Association. On June 30, 1938, she married Carl Darwin Keller, who preceded her in death. She resided in Saline County for the last 12 years, moving from St. Louis to be close to family. She taught in the Ritenour School District in St. Louis for 34 years, retiring in 1974. She was a member of Home Heights Presbyterian Church in St. Louis.
She is survived by one son, David Keller and his wife, Jackie, of Marshall and two grandchildren, Tim Keller of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Kristin Schulte of Springfield.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Fred Geyer of St. Louis.
