Betty Ann Bigby, 52, of Carrollton, died Thursday, July 31, 2008, at Lafayette Regional Health Center in Lexington.
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 4, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Virginia Street Baptist Church in Carrollton, with Rev. Jimmy White officiating. Burial was held in Oak Hill Cemetery in Carrollton. She was born April 13, 1956, in Carrollton, the daughter of Herbert Carter and Annabelle Bigby. She graduated from Carrollton High School. She was employed as a machine operator for Henkel in Richmond. She was a member of the Virginia Street Baptist Church in Carrollton, and a member of the NAACP.
She is survived by one daughter, Nicole Bigby of Columbia; her eight siblings, Thelma Wayland of Carrollton, Dorothy Bigby of Carrollton, Roy Bigby of Lee's Summit, Isabelle Arrington of Kansas City, Marjorie Bigby of Carrollton, Donald Bigby of Chillicothe, Rowdie Bigby of Lexington, Randy Bigby of the state of Florida; one grandson, Cordell Parham; a host step-grandchildren; and many of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Herbert Carter; mother, Annebelle Lyles; stepfather, Clark Lyon Lyles; and one brother, Charles Lester Bigby.
