Panel discusses 911 call center

The Saline County 911 Building Committee held its inaugural meeting Tuesday, July 15, to plan for the construction of a new 911-dispatch building.

The committee is made up of members of the 911 commission, which include John Fletcher, John Rieves, Jesse Coslet, Cathie Jeffries, Jack Lenz, Corbin Allred, Pam Teague and Cindy Schroeder. All members were in attendance for the meeting except Schroeder.

The committee discussed the dimensions of the call center, which will be submitted to Stace Anderson of Septagon for inclusion in the Request For Proposal, pending the approval of all committee members within one week.

Dimensions for the 911 building will be as follows: dispatch room (30 feet by 50 feet), emergency operations center/training room (30-by-40), sleeping room (10-by-10), HVAC room (15-by-15), two restrooms (10-by-14 each), electrical room (10-by-15), telephone and radio room (10-by-16), server room (10-by-12), break room (16-by-12), two storage areas (10-by-10 each) and two offices (14-by-14.5 each).
