Both men contacted the Saline County Sheriff's Office Monday, July 7, to report the incident.
One, a 35-year-old Blackburn man, said he came out of a bedroom in his home and found another man sitting on his couch. He ordered the man to leave and then threw him out of the house.
The other, a 24-year-old Sedalia man, who is a representative of a rental company, said he was allowed into the home by two children and when ordered to leave attempted to comply.
But the resident allegedly hit him with a stick, put him in a choke hold and threatened to shoot him, he told deputies.
After both men were interviewed by deputies, the Blackburn man was arrested for assault and the report of the incident was forwarded to the prosecuting attorney's office.
