Virgil Nolting, 85, of rural Houstonia, died Friday, July 11, 2008, at I-70 Medical Center in Sweet Springs.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sweet Springs, with Rev. Dan Wing officiating. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Sweet Springs. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church Radio Broadcast in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Sweet Springs. Born Oct. 7, 1922, in Houstonia, he was the son of the late Atwill Nolting and Pauline Kroeschen Nolting. On Feb. 3, 1962, he married Ruth Sooter, who preceded him in death on Nov. 28, 2004. He had lived in the Houstonia area his entire life, where he was a farmer. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Survivors include several cousins.
