Richard Lee Rider Jr.

Richard Lee Rider Jr., 48, of Napton, formerly of Kansas City, died Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at University Hospital and Clinics in Columbia.

Private family memorial services will be held.

Born Oct. 12, 1959, in Champaign, Ill., he was the son of the late Richard Lee Rider Sr. and Ada Ward Rider. On July 29, 2001, he married Carol Ann Arter, who survives of the home. He had lived in Napton the last six months, moving from Kansas City, and was a chef for most of his life.

Additional survivors include three children, Jennifer Jones and Bruce Jones, both of Napton, and Angel Johnson of Valdosta, Ga.; eight grandchildren; one brother, Ward Rider of the state of Hawaii; two sisters, Virginia Swafford of Pittsburg, Kan., and Joy Rider of the state of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
