Marshall benefitted from eight walks and three Lexington errors.
The Travelers nickel-and-dimed their opponent for the duration of the game; they scored at least one run in six of the first seven innings, while never hitting for more than a double.
Lead-off hitter John Lozano reached base three times, despite recording only one hit in five plate appearances. Kaleb Brashears also got on base three times, including a single at the bottom of the second to start a four-run inning for the Travelers.
All-state Junior, Justin McCarrol, was one of Lexington's only offensive weapons Monday evening. McCarrol recorded two doubles, a single and a stolen base in five at bats.
