While the home team used wood bats, the Chiefs stuck to their trusty metal sticks and banged out 22 hits -- seven during the eight-run first inning capped by Stoll's grand slam. Santa Fe scored three runs before the first out was recorded, two on Ben Catlett's single.
The Bulldogs displayed a little power of their own with Tyler Mattlin poking a two-run shot in the bottom of the first, but weren't able to keep up with Santa Fe -- which ran their way to three runs in the second and got a solo blast from Stoll in the third to make it 12-2.
Logan Harrison smacked a two-run double and scored on an error in the third for Odessa (1-3, 1-3 MMRL), but the Chiefs kept coming. Brett Case and Jake Hollingsworth both singled and scored in the fourth, Case hit a two-run single in the fifth and Matt Lovercamp went deep in the seventh -- Derek Giffen's RBI single finishing a four-run frame.
Since the 'Dogs were short-handed, a second game wasn't played.
Case and Max Capps each had four hits for Santa Fe (3-2, 3-2), which plays Monday at Carrollton.
