Two teenage boys sustained minor injuries in a one-car accident Tuesday, June 17.

A 1993 Pontiac, driven by Taylor R. Simmons, 15, of Marshall, was eastbound on County Road 212, half-mile east of County Road 215, when the accident occurred at 2:30 p.m.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Simmons lost control of the vehicle and ran off the left side of the roadway. He then struck an embankment, overturned and came to rest on its top.

Jordan M. Gilmore, 16, of Sedalia, an occupant in the car, and Simmons were taken to Fitzgibbon Hospital by a private vehicle. Neither boy was wearing a safety device, police said.

The Pontiac was declared totaled. No summons has been issued, but the investigation continues.
