Adventures in Libraryland: Gentlemen, start your worms

Wednesday, June 18, 2008
Worms to the starting line!

On your mark!

Get set!

Go!

Thursday, June 19, at 7 p.m., the Marshall Public Library will hold its very first worm races.

I know that everyone has a lot of questions about what worm races actually consist of. So here is the easiest answer.

We are going to race real worms.

The friendly people over at Blind Pony Nursery have helped us out by getting these worms ready for their big day.

Bob Bishop at Orscheln's has been so kind to help us out with some candy worms for us to snack on. For the rest of it, you are just going to have to wiggle on down to the library to find out what this is all about.

We had a fantastic movie night last week. We watched a great movie and dined on popcorn and invisible kool-aid.

Here is the winning joke of the night: "Why did the bee get married?" Because he found his HONEY! Madison Baker won the drawing for a great metamorphosis T-shirt. So, drop on down to have a lot of fun, tell a joke, and maybe even do a little bee dance.

New registrants are Miles, Hannah, Matthew, Luke and Elizabeth Pomerenke; Liza and Jake Hare, Hollis and Duffin Makings; and McKinlie and Mason Bethel.

Wow, these kids have already completed the first week, one step closer to the fantastic drawings:

Hannah Johnson; Michael and Kaleb Stimel; Jacob and Lauren Seelow; Zoe, Maggie, and Mimi Sherman, Dakota Mackey; Sophia Bolser; Mason and McKinlie Bethel; Brandon Fleischman; Dustin and Hallie Campbell; Tim, Kayli, Nicola, Ephraim, and Hyrum Thompson, Morgynn Pawli, Kelly and Rachel Stewart; Sydnee Nichols
