HARRISONVILLE -- Both the home and visiting teams rallied during the final inning Saturday when Santa Fe played a Mid-Missouri River League doubleheader at Harrisonville.

The Wildcats scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning of the 9-8 opener, Spencer Bristow coming through with a two-out single to drive in the game-winning run after the Chiefs had taken the lead with a late surge.

Santa Fe trailed by three runs heading into the fifth inning, but Jake Hollingsworth and Nathan Wesley smashed back-to-back doubles to tie the contest.

Sean Murphy doubled and Gage Bristow singled to plate two runs for Harrisonville in its half of the stanza, but then the Chiefs answered with five runs in the sixth -- two on Hunter Rolf's double and three more when Hollingsworth homered.

However, Spencer Bristow singled and scored in the sixth and came up again with Gage Bristow on third base with the go-ahead run -- hitting safely to left field to end the game.

Singles by Rolf and Logan Kirchhoff staked the Chiefs to first-inning lead in the nightcap. Rolf also had a single in the second to knock in a run, but Santa Fe was unable to add to its advantage until the fifth -- when Matt Lovercamp stroked a two-run double.

Ronnie Scott's single with two outs in the sixth closed the margin to 4-3, but the Chiefs got the two runs they surrendered back in the seventh when Kirchhoff tripled with Lovercamp on base and scored on Max Capps' single.

Matt Livingston and Jeremy Savage singled to start the bottom of the seventh and were able to score on a grounder and wild pitch, but Harrisonville (2-2) stranded the tying run at third base when Lovercamp induced a tapper back to the mound for the final out.

Capps had six hits during the twinbill, going four for four in the first game, to lead Santa Fe (2-2) -- which plays Thursday at Odessa after Monday's scheduled road game at Clinton was cancelled due to a conflict with other Cardinal activities.
