William J. Oldham, 84, of Louisburg, Kan., died Tuesday, June 10, 2008, in Louisburg.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2008, at University Heights Baptist Church in Springfield, with George Miller officiating. Music will be provided by Russell Newport. Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at University Heights Baptist Church. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Springfield. Memorials may be made to University Heights Baptist Church in Springfield.
He was born Aug. 9, 1923, in Lamar, the son of the late Walter and Ella Oldham. In 1945, he married Joanne C. (Clark) Oldham in Springfield; she preceded him in death. He was the minister at First Baptist Church in Marshall during the 1950s. He served in the U.S. Army. He graduated from Drury College in Springfield and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky.
He is survived by three daughters, Suzanne Dotson of Bucyrus, Kan., Sara Barnett of Tulsa, Okla., and Kate Oldham of Ceredo, W.Va.; one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Margaret Pierce, Mary Florence Lemons and Lois Bass.
